I have always been interested in cars, electronics and music and I have worked in the electronics/communications field for more than 30 years. I have always enjoyed broadcasting and I have had many jobs in radio and television. I've DJ'ed at five or six radio stations (the last was in 1978) and even a couple of clubs when this was still a novelty at clubs.

The technology of radio and television has always been more interesting than performing, however. I'm now working for Sprint Nextel as a broadcast engineer, having recently left my job as technology editor for a magazine called "TV Technology," a trade journal for the professional television industry. I have had many articles published in TV Technology and other trade magazines, including several product reviews of a variety of professional television equipment.

I play guitar and sing reasonably well, and recorded a CD of obscure folk and novelty songs a couple of years ago. I review guitars on the Pro Audio Review Web site (www.proaudioreview.com).

I am a US Army veteran, having served from 1971 to 1974 and received an honorable discharge. I reached the lofty rank of Specialist 4.

For other hobbies... I love to read, work on the houses and cars (I have two homes and four cars), eat at restaurants, listen to the Beatles, go to movies and fiddle with electronic stuff. I very much enjoy all the Star Trek series and I watched classic Trek when it was first-run on NBC. I have two cats.

A few of the things I hate are junk (spam) mail, spinach, barking dogs, crying babies, cars that won't start, cleaning the litter boxes, seeing an article in a competing magazine that scoops MY article, seafood and plumbing repairs.

With a little ambition, regular bathing and getting to work on time, I have achieved more in life than I ever thought possible when I was daydreaming in high school. It's amazing what those three things will do for an interesting career.
