Reviews and Stuff
I finally have a review of socks on Epinions. Yes, I have written a review of socks! Even more amazing, I have reviewed a fork and my former Annoying Coworker!
Like to gamble and live in the Northeast? I don't think you can do much better than the Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut. It's my favorite place to gamble here in the East.
Vegas Baby!
Maybe you're looking to play and stay in Las Vegas? If you are looking for a great place to stay in Las Vegas? Think about staying at THEHotel at Mandalay Bay - it's amazing. A little pricey, but amazing and worth it. While you're there, you can take a tour of the Shark Reef, which is a great way to spend some time exploring life under the sea in the desert of Las Vegas! Want more Vegas info (as it's only one of my favorite places to visit!), here's a quick rundown of the hotels that we've stayed at on our various visits:
Excalibur Hotel & Casino / The Monte Carlo Resort & Casino / New York-New York Hotel & Casino / MGM Grand Hotel & Casino / Treasure Island (TI) / The Mirage / Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas / Circus-Circus Hotel & Casino / Las Vegas Motel 6 - Tropicana
Want to walk the Las Vegas Strip, then check out my my guide to everything on the strip.
Still looking for more Vegas info? Check out my Flickr set on Las Vegas that includes photos along with links to my reviews of Vegas hotels, Vegas attractions and destinations and attractions outside of Las Vegas.
The Catskills
How about one of the best undiscovered outdoor areas in the Northeast? Think about a visit to the Catskill Mountains in New York State. I grew up in the region and had a chance to work there as an Assistant Forest Ranger for a couple of seasons. It's a wonderful part of New York State and well worth a visit.
Make your iPod loud!
Want a way to really get a kick out of the music you have your iPod? Consider getting the Kicker IK500 Powered iPod Speaker System, it really can take the music on your iPod up a notch.

About Me
I am in my 30's and living just outside of Boston in the western suburbs.
I went to college at a small liberal arts college in northeastern Vermont where I got a degree in Environmental Science(GO Lyndon State College). I am originally from the Hudson Valley area in NY. After college I lived in Maine for a little over two years working for the State as a Planner in land use regulation and planning for a portion of the state. If I try, I can still pull that Maine accent out of my back pocket.
When I first moved down to Massachusetts I spent about 4 years working for the state in an incredibly tiny, unknown state agency overseeing and managing grants and projects for environmental stuff. Nowadays I work in the environmental consulting field here in Massachusetts - yes, I have gone to the dark side. At least it means I don't have to commute into Boston anymore!
In college I focused my research on geology and biology and became quite the rockhound, hence all the geology book reviews here on Epinions. I've also got a strong general science background and love reading and learning as much about science as I can - hence all the other science related reviews!
I love having new gadgets (or toys as my friends and family put it), so I try out quite a few of them. I like to travel fairly frequently. I have been to Europe and to most areas of the US, with most of my travel throughout New England and New York. Lately though I have been taking to trips to the Southwest to enjoy the recreational opporuntities out there.
I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, skiing and canoeing. I try to get outdoors as much as possible. I've set up a blog to discuss those trips. On my blog, Adventures in the Outdoors, which is home to trip reports from all of my adventures. Here's a feed for it...

My partner and I have been together for over 11 years. We met one another back when we were both in college and have been together ever since. We finally made it official and got married in April of 2008! Here is a photo from the big day!
