Pros: very secure, highly capable, stable Cons: product activation, program too large, requires too much RAM, expensive, one install/machine
As a long-time user of Windows 2000 Professional, I finally bow to Windows XP Professional SP-2. Notice the important word "SP-2" (Service Pack 2). In August 2004, Microsoft released SP-2 patch files for Windows XP. At the same time, they released ...
Pros: easier to install than linux, newest OS Cons: BLOATED. Lots of eyecandy. Performance is hurt by both.
I have worked with many operating systems from DOS 2.0 on up to XP and with a few OS that are not of the Microsoft family. It seems that just as fast as computers make another step forward then the OS takes a giant leap forward... or is it backward. Tell ...
Pros: fast user ability, great options, simple for anyone Cons: can be slow turning off and shutting down, needs antivirus and antispware protection
This program is by far one of the best operating systems you can get for a computer. You will fall in love with it from the moment the computer has been turned on. The graphics are nice to it is a great system that can be used to for the gamer that loves ...
Windows XP SP2 is still going strong today. Microsoft has put out SP3, but aside from that it is the same OS. Even with Vista taking over the scene, there's still a hardcore fan following for Windows XP. There are even those people that would take a ...
This is the best OS ever! by called4more ,Feb 08 '06
Pros: XP Pro is very stable, runs games well, has good built in features. Cons: Still does not allow the control that Linux does, but is less hard to run.
I am a huge fan about xp pro w/sp2 for several reasons. First, it cleaned up some problems that were associated with sp1. Also, XP professional allows much more control over the gui and computer as a whole. Also, if you are a gamer, XP pro runs more stable than home in gaming situations. This allows for a more fluid gaming experience for you with little problems at all.
so this is a review on XP pro w/sp2 and that's it.
I really like XP's stability, and SP2 helps provide the best of both worlds. Not only do I get Better uptime than with windows 98, but also a more stable Operating system.
XP rocks man. I used to be afraid to install SP2, however after a mind change I did. After installing SP2, stability went up considerably. This is a quick review so look at the pros and cons for some more info...
Pros: Lots of expensive s/w Cons: It's STILL Windows
Thank the Lord I only paid $8 as a college student. XP is barely better than 98. Can't turn off auto update without nag screen. Wish 2000 weren't so picky about software and user ID's and such or I'd switch. If I could get Linux to use modem I'd switch.
Not so bad for an MS product by bytesmack ,Dec 09 '05
Pros: Seems to work well... Cons: It's still an MS product and is still full of security holes...
Since installing Windows XP with SP2 intergrated into it, I have had no problems whatsoever. I had SP1 intergrated for about 2 years and upgraded to SP2. When I did this my system went into shock. After trying to fix all the errors, I finally gave up and reformated with the SP2 intergrated.
MickeySoft might have put out a decent OS for the first time since 98SE.
Coolest Hot OS!! ever built... by cdzone ,Mar 30 '06
Pros: cool processing and looks .
inbuilt protection from virus, firewall.
fast and secure Cons: lots of security creates headech
I am using Windows XP PRO SP2 from last year and yes it is really fast and secure than previous versions:-
The inbuilt protection from virus, firewall, and security center is worth it...
I bought this product because of its cool processing and looks .
The security and the speed which it gives and a crisp colourfull display i love the most.
But too much security often create surfing on net a horrible experience i.e. too much warning, Pop-up stoppage etc.
Pros: User friendly OS Cons: Expensive, Requires more memory
In Microsofts products, This windows version is extra slick, user friendly. A step forward to a more user friendly GUI. Provides administrative interface for advance users. Though it contains security invalnurabilites, still is much more easier to use and secure than its preceeding windows versions.
Pros: Better security than other Microsoft operating systems. Cons: Bloated, you need a fast machine with lots of memory. Some machines can't handle it.
SP2 is much better than SP1 if and only if your computer can handle it. The best chance for success is to make sure to update all the drivers for your machine before you install this.
One feature that I think is very cool is the ability to use images from "My Pictures" for your screen saver. However, I still prefer Windows 2000, I have less trouble with driver issues with the earlier operating system.
