Pros: Well priced Pool Shark & replacement parts. Light & compact design climbs the walls easily.
Cons: Taking apart unit takes a little patience, but you won't have to do it frequently.
I purchased the Barracuda G4 (priced today at about $400 on ebay) to improve the cleaning of my previous automatic pool cleaner Sta-Rite Pool Shark ($250 ebay), owned for two years. I've had the Barracuda G4 for three years and it's time to repair the unit. Replacement parts like the round rubber disc is about $50 dollars on ebay, online pool stores are selling for as high as $80+. The G4 diaphragm ($22 ebay) broke and replaced covered by the warranty; furthermore, the G4 hull has worn down (as it climbs the pool walls) in another 6 months I'll need to replace it ($51 if I decide to use it again). The overall performance of the G4 is about half of the Pool Shark's performance. Not only does the G4 have problems picking up all the dirt as it passes over it, but gets stuck on debris that the Pool Shark either avoids or actually does pick up. As far as Pool Shark replacement parts, after two years of use I had to replace two small flaps $13 + S\H.
