Pros: Lots of options including voice mail. Have never lost a fax.
Cons: May cost more than some other services.

I use this service in place of owning a fax machine. Have been quite happy with it. I don't know if it's the best value but will say I've had no problems with it and there's no software to install (fax file comes as a PDF). Have also had good luck in sending faxes.

Pros: convenience, customer service, receive in standard PDF format, retrieve from archive.
Cons: Lost some received faxes

This service is convenient, but reliability of fax reception is less than perfect. Customer Service reacts within a day, so I'm happy.

I've been a paying customer since 2005, attracted by receiving faxes in standard encrypted PDF format, and archiving of received and sent faxes. After about a year, some incoming faxes were lost due to innoport line quality. Customer Service quickly fixed the problem, but in a month it happened again. CS fixed it again within a day. Still I wish that none had been lost.

In general these fax and voicemail services are great. Most services treat faxes more seriously than email, so some have no email at all: doctors, faraway hotels, even sandwich shops. I've even used the sendfax service as an printer, in a pinch! Convenient also to send myself a voice memo, in my email inbox when I check email next.
