Pros: They really want to teach you how to invest; Some useful tools Cons: They really want you to spend big bucks.
Most investments are not performing very well these days. The financial markets were doing okay through June, 2008, before the financial crisis sent stock prices and other investments spiraling downward. This has led many to reconsider their investment ...
Pros: None Cons: Hard sell tactics from sophisticated salesmen
I bought the Investools education during a high-pressure sales pitch during one of the "Basic Stocks" classes. They do not give you enough information to be "financially secure" after you have learned what they have to teach. You can find the same ...
Pros: Easy to navigate, different information Cons: They try to trick you into subscribing to the site and that is not worth it to me
Being a stockbroker I am always on the look out for websites that help me make informed decisions. I ran into investools.com today for the first time and was initially quite happy with what I found at the site. They were something different in that...
Pros: Great resources to help with making informed, educated investment decisions. Cons: Could be considered expensive to some.
Expensive? Yes. Scam? No. After reading numerous Internet posts both positive and negative, I purchased and attended a two-day Investools Stocks Workshop and feel it was a worthwhile investment for me. Their educational services includes live ...
Pros: Great system, live support help, fundamental, technical analisys, website, tools, better traiding with than without! Cons: Too much information on website, not for the undisciplined person
I have been with Investools for 5 years now, and I wouldn't trade without it. If you want to try to learn trading on your own, go ahead, good luck. If you want an education...you have to pay for it, just like anything else. Investools ...
Pros: convenience (all-in-one), power searches, practice account Cons: high price for beginners, also requires time investment.
I bought into Investools about 3 years ago after going to two different free seminars, one by CNBC and the other by Business week. I'm surprised to see so much negativity about it though. Yes, it is very expensive, but so are many other sites that ...
Pros: top notch education, reputable company, professional staff Cons: high initial investment in the program, negative experience with coach on a few occasions
When I first bought this product, they did have some sales tactics at the initial workshop. My wife and I decided to spend $24,000 on their PHD program. We had problems at first because it was quite overwhelming. We started going through the courses, but ...
Do you go to sleep at night and say to yourself I want to give my money away for something I can have for free. Well if you do then join investools. What are you nuts there are 8 billion great financial websites out there for free. Plus CNBC on...
Pros: Valuation analysis feature as it gets to the sticker price quickly. Cons: You shouldn't have to pay for the instruction manual when you buy any product.
I purchased investools after a get motivated seminar in June of 2007. I stuck with it for a year. I paid for and attended the two day workshop. Here's what I found. Investools mops up a lot of your investment capitol with their three tiered ...
Pros: Use of technology to provide ease to learn is excellent. Cons: No program is provides all the answers.
I am in the securities industry 25 years and it is important for everyone to understand that nothing is easy in this industry. Combine electronic executions on all exchanges, decimals eliminated eighth and sixteenth price supports, the evolution of ...
Pros: Good searches Cons: Too much hype, way too expensive!
I went to an Investools workshop and was very interested in learning more about the stock market but was seriously turned off by the high pressure sales tactics. After spending $2495 for a two day workshop, we realized that it was about 70% hype to ...
Pros: seems like a good concept Cons: very sales driven
I recently attended a "Get Motivated" seminar in St. Louis (Aug 17, 2007) and was really impressed with the Investools pitch. I was so impressed I went right away to the tables they had set up and signed up for the two-day class. Just like they said at ...
Pros: Information in one place - you can ge this for free or much cheaper. Cons: Extremely expensive, sales pressure, hyped, locked in, options oriented.
If you are into options, you shouldn't even go to their free seminars. The steep price tag at the begining and the sale pressure will lock you in for months to come. Ultimately they want to dig deep into your pocket to get you started on their option classes. The tool has some good searches and nice information in one place. However, without back test capability, you will be gambling with your money if you use those searches.
I regret I spent $1000 on this thing. I am currently trying another tool that only charges a monthly fee and offers back test - much better value than investools.
Pros: Would like the knowledge of investing and growing my money. Cons: Their courses are too expensive.
This weekend my husband schedule to attend their weekend training. At the end of the first day we received a package to sign up for their educational courses. The prices for the courses are ridiculous.
Can someone recommend or suggest another website or company that offer the same thing for less?
Instructors are great salespeople!!! by misholiver ,Jun 26 '07
Pros: well, instructors are great sales people!!! Cons: its all about instructors trying to sell you more of their educational programs
I went to 1 day basic course of Investools.com and I was disappointed. It seemed that the whole thing was about instructors trying to sell you their educational workshops (from 5K to $24,000) and to get you to use their software. Instead I was hoping to get education on how to become a good investor. :(
I am curios if anybody actually made/lost money using that tool?
I would love to hear your experiences. Please reply to misholiver@gmail.com
Let me know if I can help anyone, sharing more details about my experience.
